Neighborhood Response Team

For occasions when a traditional police response is not effective or a neighborhood problem is beyond a patrol officer’s ability or training to solve, the Kent Police Department has developed a special strategy called Neighborhood Response to effectively deal with this type of situation.

Our Neighborhood Response Team (NRT) is comprised of several officers. If you feel that you have a problem outside the capability of a patrol officer to solve (e.g. chronic, significant), please contact your Neighborhood BlockWatch Captains and the following NRT members for assistance:

  • Mill Creek NRT Officer: Ofc. Kevin Bateman (253)856-5894
  • Crime Prevention Officer: Ofc. Paul Petersen (253)856-5877
  • NRT Supervisor: Sgt. Jeff Cobb 253-856-5843.

Remember, ALWAYS call 9-1-1 if you see an incident or crime “IN PROGRESS” or if you want to report a crime in which you are the victim. A patrol officer will promptly respond to investigate your incident or concern.
